The Wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has disbursed ₦50,000 cash grants to 500 women and vulnerable persons in Okunland.

The First Lady presented the grants at an empowerment programme held recently in Kabba.
Speaking at the event, Hajia Sefinat, said the intervention was in response to the socio-economic challenges many women face in sustaining their families and livelihoods.

She noted that rising costs and limited opportunities have made it difficult for women to meet household needs.
Mrs. Ododo said her office is committed to initiatives that deliver real impact, adding that the grants are aimed at helping women, widows, and other vulnerable groups expand their businesses, support their families, and attain greater economic self-reliance.
“Women are critical to community development and nation-building,” she said. “Empowering them is key to reducing poverty and raising living standards in Kogi State.”
She added that empowering them is essential to reducing poverty and improving living standards across Kogi State
Beneficiaries described the support as timely and life-changing, and thanked the First Lady for the gesture.
Earlier, Hajia Sefinat, paid a courtesy visit to the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi, where she reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to partnering with traditional institutions in promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development.
