Northern govr’s wives forum empowers 1200 vulnerable women in Yola

The 19 Northern Governor’s wives Forum (NGWF), led by the wife of Adamawa state Governor, Hajiya Lami Fintiri, has empowered no fewer than 1200 vulnerable Women in Yola.

The intervention and empowerment programme was held as part of activities marking the 2nd triannial meeting of the NGWF at the Bouquet Hall, Government House, Yola.

At the empowerment programme, 20 benefitiaries received 100,000 each amounting to N20 million and 1000 vulnerable residents received food and household items.

The  items received by the 1200 beneficiaries, include 20kg bags of rice, cartons of spaghetti, gallons of groundnut oil, mats and blankets.

In her address, Hajiya Lami Fintiri,  explained that, the intervention is aimed at cushioning the hardship, supporting vulnerable members of the society and improving their livelihoods.

She expressed appreciation to the wives of the Northern governors for attending the meeting and for their collaboration towards improving the welfare of women, youths and vulnerable persons across the region.

She urged the beneficiaries to make proper and productive use of the financial assistance and items provided to them.

Some beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Hajiya Lami Fintiri for the gesture, describing the assistance as timely and capable of helping them couple with the present hardship.
