The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusif, has expressed deep sadness over the passing of former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
The Speaker described the death of the former Governor as a painful loss to Kogi State, Nigeria and the many people whose lives and public service were touched by his leadership.
Rt. Hon. Yusuf acknowledged the contributions of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, to the development of Kogi State during his tenure as Governor, noting his commitment to public service and the growth of the state.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the people of Kogi State, his associates and the government and people of Kogi State.

The Speaker prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late former Governor, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
“Alhaji Ibrahim Idris was an important figure in the history of our state. His passing is a painful moment for Kogi State. We pray that Almighty Allah grants him eternal rest and comforts his family, associates and all those mourning his departure,” the Speaker said.
