Ex-Kogi Deputy Governor, Salawu mourns former Boss, Ibrahim Idris
Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Dr. Phillips Salawu, has joined the people of Kogi State and Nigerians at large in mourning the passing of former Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
Salawu, who served as Deputy Governor under the late Idris from May 29, 2003 to January 27, 2012, described the death of his former boss as a huge loss to the family, Kogi State and Nigeria.
In a condolence message he personally signed, the former Deputy Governor, said he enjoyed a cordial working relationship with the late Idris during their almost nine years in office.
“We had a cordial relationship during our tenure of office. My Boss was a leader with the fear of God at heart and he governed the State with maturity, sensitivity, sensibility, prudence, decency, modesty and high sense of responsibility,” Salawu said.
He noted that the demise of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, is not only a loss to his immediate family but to the entire state and the nation.
“On behalf of myself, my family and my political associates; my condolences to the immediate family of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, the Igala Kingdom, and to the Government and people of Kogi State,” he stated.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the former governor.
“May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace, amen,” he added.
Alhaji Ibrahim Idris served as Governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2012.
