For purpose of peace, security and administrative convenience, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, HRH, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Muhammad Anaje, has turbaned the Sarki Hausawa of Ebira land, Alhaji Saleh Adamu Danladi.
The ceremony which held last weekend at the Ohinoyi’s palace in Okene also witnessed the turbaning of Fulani leaders (Odeyi Fulani) across the five local government areas of Kogi central.
In an address during the ceremony, the Ohinoyi, explained that the the turbaning of the Fulani leaders across the five local government areas of kogi central, is a pro-active response to calls by the people of the area for the need to address the rising security challenges associated with Fulani settlers in the area. Adding that such challenges which caused displacement of farmers and destruction of farmlands has generated tension in the area.
He assured that the turbaning of the Fulani leaders does not translate into concession of land, heritage and identity, but rather, a pro-active measure aimed at ensuring accountability, dialogue and peace building.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Accountant General of the state, Chief Habibat Tijani Onumoko, extolled the qualities of the Ohinoyi, describing the turbaning as a bold and visionary step aimed at strengthening security, unity and peaceful co-existence.
Speaking shortly after his coronation, the Sarki Hausawa, Alhaji Saleh Danladi, expressed gratitude to the Ohinoyi over the successful turbaning.
He then seized the opportunity to thank the Governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for carrying every body along, peace and security, as well as his commitment to the infrastructural development of the state.
