In a press release by the Information Officer to the Ministry, Adegboyega Segun, stated that the Commissioner, called on Information Officers to rededicate themselves to effectively communicate these achievements to the public.

“The Ododo administration is doing a lot in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and other critical sectors, yet much of it remains underreported. As Information Officers, it is our duty to bridge that gap by telling the true story of our state and its leadership,” he said.

The Commissioner noted that information management plays a vital role in governance, urging officers to make the best use of available media platforms to promote the government’s programmes, policies, and people-oriented initiatives.

“Information is key to public trust. We must communicate with integrity, accuracy, and passion. The world should see the transformation happening in Kogi State under Governor Ododo,” he added.

Hon. Fanwo also commended the Governor for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, describing him as a leader who prioritises impact over publicity.

In his remarks, the Director of Information Services, Mr. Ademu Seidu, paid glowing tribute to the immediate past Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Ebenezer Adurodija, acknowledging his professionalism and dedication to duty.

Mr. Adurodija, who now serves as Technical Assistant to the Ministry, encouraged Information Officers to remain relevant and impactful, noting that every officer has a role to play in shaping the public image of Kogi State.

“Make the most of every opportunity to tell the story of development and good governance in our state. That is how to remain relevant and effective in the system,” he advised.

The Acting Permanent Secretary, Mr. Agada Eleojo, commended the Commissioner for his inclusive and motivating leadership style, which he said has fostered teamwork and productivity within the Ministry.

As part of efforts to inspire excellence, the Ministry introduced a monthly recognition initiative tagged “Ododo Media Award”, designed to reward top-performing Information Officers.

For the month of September, the winners were: Mr. Abah Benjamin, who bagged first position while Princess Sumanu and Mr. Rotimi Odofin bagged second and third positions respectively.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Mr. Abah Benjamin, appreciated the Commissioner and management team for the recognition and encouragement, pledging continued dedication to duty in service to the state.
