From David Onuoja, Abuja

The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), and the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN), have launched a strategic partnership to enhance safety, standardization, and quality assurance in Nigeria’s growing renewable energy sector.

The collaboration was aimed at developing and implementing technical standards for renewable energy installations, create a Renewable Energy Construction and Installation Guideline Manual and to provide training and capacity-building programs for industry professionals.

In a press statement yesterday in Abuja, signed by Mrs Ama Umoren, Public Affairs Unit of NEMSA, said, the REAN and NEMSA have agreed to collaborate in that regard.

The statement added that the REAN President, Ayo Ademilola, emphasised the importance of strict adherence to technical standards and safe practices, while NEMSA’s Managing Director, Olusegun Adesayo, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to enforcing technical standards and ensuring electrical installation safety.
