From David Onuoja, Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has begun the construction of a new 330kV Turn-In Turn-Out Transmission Line at Ihovbor Work Centre, Benin Region.

The project involves stringing the Ihovbor-Ajaokuta 330kV Transmission Line and is expected to be completed by March 30, 2026.

It is also aimed at enhancing TCN’s capacity to evacuate more power from the Azura Power Plant and other power plants to transmission substations across the national grid.

The project will improve transmission channels, provide additional capacity, and strengthen the reliability of bulk power supply.
