NEMSA, APGC strengthen ties to boost electrical safety, efficiency

The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), and the Association of Power Generation Companies (APGC), have reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate on electrical safety and standards.

APGC’s Managing Director, Dr. Joy Ogaji, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to NEMSA’s Abuja headquarters, emphasising the need for increased public awareness of NEMSA’s activities.

Ogaji, commended NEMSA’s regulatory role in enforcing technical standards, inspecting electrical installations, and certifying meters and instruments.

She proposed regular collaborative engagements between NEMSA and APGC, to promote knowledge sharing and coordination.

NEMSA’s Managing Director, Engineer Olusegun Adesayo, welcomed the delegation, reiterating the agency’s readiness to work with APGC and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with electrical standards and improve operational safety.

The visit highlights the importance of strategic partnerships in driving power sector reforms, improving efficiency, and ensuring a safe and sustainable electricity supply. NEMSA and APGC aim to enhance public awareness and promote compliance with established standards.

Adesayo, emphasised the need for sustained collaboration to strengthen Nigeria’s electricity infrastructure and safeguard lives and property. The partnership also seeks to improve the overall performance of the power sector and contribute to the country’s economic development.

The meeting demonstrates the commitment of key institutions to work together towards a common goal of ensuring reliable and efficient power supply in Nigeria.
