From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), has strongly condemned the wave of suicide bombings that rocked Maiduguri on Monday night, describing the attacks as horrifying and inhumane.

In a statement issued by its Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the forum decried the incident as a senseless destruction of lives and property, urging security agencies to intensify efforts to dismantle terrorist networks behind the assaults.

“The incidents are shocking and despicable. They represent a reckless waste of human lives and must be met with decisive action,” the NGF stated.

The governors expressed deep sympathy with the government and people of Borno State, noting that the forum stands in solidarity with residents affected by the tragic events.

“Our condolences and sympathies are with the people and government of Borno State on this sad development. We stand in firm solidarity with them,” the statement read.

The forum also reiterated its commitment to supporting the Federal Government and security agencies in the ongoing fight against terrorism across the country.

“We condemn the cowardly attacks on civilians and government facilities in Maiduguri, and we reassure our security forces of our continued support for operations to end this menace,” AbdulRazaq added.

The NGF stressed the need for sustained collaboration between federal and state authorities to ensure security for all.
