Chief Imam of Ebira counsels on gains of Ramadan

As the month of Ramadan draws to an end, muslims have been urged to imbibe and practice the lessons of Ramadan that teaches love and peace.

This call was contained in a statement issued during the week in Okene by the Chief Imam of Ebira central mosque, sheikh Salihu Abere.

The Chief Imam who congratulated Muslims for witnessing the holy month of Ramadan, described the month as the period when the gates of heaven (Al jaanat) is ordered opened and that of hell fire put under lock.

Sheikh Abere further described the month as possessing a special day (lailat quadr) that is considered equivalent to one thousand days, adding that it is a day of blessings and charity in which reward for all good deeds are multiplied seventy times.

He then enjoined Muslims and others to seize the spirit of Ramadan to draw closer to Allah by demonstrating the attributes of piety, love and maintenance of peace.

The chief Imam added that those who observe fast during the Ramadan are preparing well for their return to Allah.

While also stressing the need for Muslims to propagate Islam, the chief Imam, expressed appreciation to Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for commencing the re-construction of Ebira Central Mosque. He prayed Allah to grant the governor’s heart desires.

The chief Imam also seized the opportunity to commend the governor in the area of peace and security across the state and prayed Allah to continue to ensure peace in the country.

He reminded Muslims of the need to observe zaqat, that is considered equivalent
