Kogi CMDs applaud Governor Ododo’s ₦300,000 monthly allowance for Doctors

The Chief Medical Directors of all state-owned tertiary and secondary health institutions in Kogi State, have jointly commended the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for approving ₦300,000 monthly motivation allowance for all medical doctors across the state.

In a statement jointly signed by the four Chief Medical Directors, they described the Governor’s gesture as a landmark decision that has rekindled hope in the medical profession and reaffirmed his administration’s unshakable commitment to strengthening the healthcare system in Kogi State.

According to the statement, “This singular act of kindness by His Excellency is not only a morale booster but also a strategic step toward retaining skilled medical professionals within the state. It will go a long way in reducing the Japa syndrome, enhancing productivity, and cushioning the effects of the current economic realities confronting healthcare workers across Nigeria.”

The CMDs, noted that Governor Ododo’s proactive leadership style has continued to inspire confidence among health workers, adding that his people-oriented governance is laying a solid foundation for an efficient, responsive, and sustainable health system in Kogi State.

They further assured the Governor of their unwavering loyalty, dedication, and collective commitment to ensuring that his health sector reforms and policies are fully realised for the benefit of the people.

While expressing heartfelt appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adams Adeiza, the medical directors, extolled his exceptional leadership, foresight, and administrative ingenuity, which they said have greatly contributed to the remarkable progress being recorded in the state’s health sector under his watch.
