Adamawa state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has declared self the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, dismissing suggestions that the position should remain with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.
Fintiri who made the declaration while addressing a crowed at crucial stakeholders meeting in Yola, stated that his return last week to the party, should’nt be misinterpreted as a defection but rather a home coming and a strategic realignment of political forces in Adamawa State.
The governor described himself as one of the founding fathers of the party. “I’m a founding member of APC, my entry is not defection but realignment with like minds.”
Governor Fintiri’s formal reception into the party by the party top hirachy, was supervised by the APC North East Vice Chairman, Comrade Mustapha Salihu and the Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Muktar Maiha.

He reitreated that his emergence as the leader of the party was a collective decision burn out of the decision of Adamawa people to take the state to greater hight.
Governor Fintiri said, “Our decision to join the APC was informed by the need for stability and desire for a greater Adamawa state. This drive was achieved devoid of political, divide.”
The Governor therefore called on those moving from the PDP to APC to turn over with majority saying that, it is a reunion of political like minds that has existed since the formation of PDP in 1978.
Gov. Fintiri confirmed that, the entire PDP structure have been collapsed into APC, pledging that his successor will work and deliver all to President Tinibu come 2027.
The APC leader thanked President Tinibu and the NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for making a reunion of PDP and APC possible in Adamawa state.
Earlier, the North East Vice Chairman of the party, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, commended Gov. Fintiri for moving government machineries and his former party structure into the APC.
The Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Muktar Idi Maiha observed that the Present realignment of politicians within the PDP and APC, has never happened before stressing that, this development will take Adamawa state to it’s greatest height.
