He stressed that, the distribution prioritises IDPs, vulnerable returnees, women headed households, malnourished children, the elderly, and persons living with disabilities.

He added that, beneficiaries would also be linked to broader Federal Government social protection initiatives, including cash transfer schemes and livelihood restoration programmes.

Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Olubunmi Olusanya, reaffirmed Federal Government’s commitment in protecting vulnerable Nigerians.

He also urged stakeholders to ensure transparency, accountability, and community ownership throughout the distribution process.

He noted that, the intervention aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda, of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at closing humanitarian gaps and preventing malnutrition across the country. Acknowledging the cooperation of the Adamawa State Government under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who strengthened the humanitarian coordination and security collaboration.

He further said, “the ministry is working to capture beneficiaries in the National Social Register, making them eligible for Federal Government social protection programmes. This intervention is expected to bring relief to households and restore hope to affected communities”.

He described the distribution as a decisive step toward addressing food insecurity and stabilising vulnerable households, adding that the government remains committed to building a responsive and resilient humanitarian and poverty-reduction system.

Governor Fintiri was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services (RRR&HS), Hon. Bello Diram, who expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for supporting and complementing the efforts of the Adamawa State Government.

Diram reaffirmed the state government’s readiness to continue working collaboratively with the Federal Government to ensure sustained humanitarian support and improved living conditions for the people of Adamawa State.
