Solid Minerals ministry holds get-together for staff

The Kogi State Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources has held a get-together for it’s staff aimed at promoting unity, strengthening internal collaboration, and enhancing effective service delivery within the organization.

The Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Abdulsalam Hudu, who represented the Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Hon. Bashir Gegu, said the get-together was organised to provide staff with an opportunity to interact , share ideas, highlight challenges identified at work as well as review the overall performance of the ministry.

Hudu said the initiative was conceived with the approval and full support of the commissioner, noting that the gesture reflected management’s commitment to staff welfare, inclusiveness, and teamwork.

According to him, the gathering also serves as a platform to remind staff of their responsibilities as public servants, particularly as regards the issue of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism, and strict adherence to the civil service code of conduct.

He used the forum to remind staff and all other stakeholders that the development of Kogi State was a collective responsibility, adding that effective governance required the dedication and commitment of every civil servant, not just political office holders.

Speaking on behalf of the staff, the Director of Administration, Mrs. Diana Oyibo, expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for his continued support for staff welfare and the overall growth of the ministry.

She also commended the Permanent Secretary for his leadership style, which she said had encouraged cooperation, mutual understanding, and improved working relationship within the ministry, while assuring management of the staff’s continued commitment to the ministry’s goals.
