The Federal University Lokoja, is set to confer Excellence in Leadership award on founder and General Overseer of Chapel of Freedom International churches, Bishop John Ibenu.
The award will be conferred on him today, 14th October, 2025, 3pm, by the University, led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, at the University Permanent site, Felele campus, Lokoja., Kogi state.
The award ceremony, is part of the week-long activities to mark the 9th Convocation of the Federal institution.
In a letter signed by the Vice Chancellor and addressed to Bishop Ibenu, said the award was in recognition of his visionary leadership, commitment to spiritual guidance and invaluable contributions to the progress and development of society.
“As part of the week-long activities marking the Convocation, the university will be conferring special awards on deserving individuals and institutions who have distinguished themselves in the various areas of service to humanity and to the University.
“In this regard, I am delighted to inform you that you have been selected to receive the Excellence in Leadership Award,” it stated.
Other activities to mark the event include Inter-Denominational Thanksgiving service at the COHS , Auditorium Adankolo campus , lokoja, on Sunday October 19th, 2025.
