The Adamawa State Executive Council, has approved a supplementary budget of N169.1 billion, for the 2026 fiscal year and awarded multi-billion naira contracts for infrastructure, healthcare, power and education.
The approvals were granted at the council’s 16th meeting of the year presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, at the Government House, Yola, recently.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Leader Leneke, said the supplementary budget would be transmitted to the Adamawa State House of Assembly for consideration.
He said the proposed N169,109,028,894 supplementary provision will raise the 2026 budget from N582,331,380,496 to N752,437,409,390.

Leneke said in the power sector, the council approved N3.37 billion in seven lots for the rehabilitation of electricity infrastructure destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents in Madagali and Michika Local Government Areas, starting from Uba.
For roads and drainage, he said N11.31 billion was approved for township roads and storm-water drainage in Gulak and Shuwa, as well as road networks at the College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Studies.
Other approvals include N3.68 billion for access roads to the new Building Material Market along Numan Road; N3.21 billion for drainage and roads at the Mubi Cattle Market; and N484.1 million for flood-control drainage at Anguwan Magaji in Yola South.
The council also approved N10.5 billion for internal and external road networks, parking facilities and surrounding infrastructure at the state’s new international stadium.
It further approved N6.36 billion for integrated solar-powered streetlights along the superhighway and the 1,000 Housing Estate in Malkohi, and N376.9 million for a storm-water drain at the new NYSC Orientation Camp in Malkohi.
An additional N249.8 million was approved to extend electricity to Bengo community in Fufore Local Government Area.
In the health sector, N1.78 billion was approved for high-end diagnostic equipment, including FibroScan and ultrasound machines, while N462.8 million was set aside for new dialysis machines.
The council also approved N690.9 million for the renovation of Lamurde Cottage Hospital and its staff quarters, and N358.5 million for the design, costing and supervision of 11 student hostels across five state-owned tertiary institutions.
Meanwhile, the commissioner urged residents of riverine communities to remain vigilant over anticipated end-of-season flooding and be prepared to move to higher ground in line with flood forecasts.
