A member representing Yola South Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Mijinyawa, has attributed his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), to injustice, lack of trust and betrayal.
Mijinyawa, a former Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Yola.
He expressed dissatisfaction over what he described as unfair treatment meted out to him and his supporters by the APC during the recent primary elections in the state.
According to him, they had expected the party leadership to reach out to them after the primaries, but their efforts yielded no positive response.

The lawmaker said their decision to join the Action Peoples Movement (APM), was informed by the party’s growing acceptance among the electorate, expressing confidence that the party would continue to expand its base in the state.
He also noted that the APM has fielded a credible governorship candidate, Abdulrahman Haske, who is capable of winning the forthcoming election.
Mijinyawa said he is seeking re-election to the State House of Assembly on the platform of the APM and expressed optimism about retaining his seat.
He pledged to sustain quality representation for the people of Yola South Constituency, particularly through initiatives aimed at creating employment for youths, improving access to water and addressing other critical needs.
He maintained that he has impacted lives across political wards and polling units in his constituency, promising to consolidate on his achievements if re-elected.
The lawmaker urged the people of Adamawa State to join the APM, assuring that the party would promote justice, fairness and equal opportunities for all members.
