The governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Adamawa State, Pharmacist Wafarinyi Theman, has unveiled a 17-point agenda to guide his administration if elected in 2027.
Theman, who unveiled the agenda at a press conference in Yola recently,, said his blueprint, tagged “Adamawa Reset Project,” is evidence-based and driven by public input.
He said security would be his administration’s top priority through a programme tagged “We the People” and the establishment of a State Security Trust Fund.
On education, Theman adopted the slogan “No child should be left out of school,” pledging that no child would be denied basic education because of poverty.

He decried that over 58,000 pupils in the state still take lessons under trees despite huge spending on the education sector, describing the situation as unacceptable.
The YPP candidate also promised to create a Ministry of Food Production, expand mechanised farming and transform Adamawa into a food processing hub for the North-East.
He further pledged to tackle poverty and housing deficit through the establishment of a microfinance institution to be called Gongola Regional Development Bank.
Theman listed youth empowerment, technology and women inclusion as part of his priorities, noting that about 65 per cent of the state’s population are youths who require skills and training for future leadership.
Other areas covered in the agenda include revenue reform, public accountability, tourism, culture and sports.
According to him, Adamawa has sufficient human and natural resources to prosper, but needs political will from the executive and support from citizens to achieve development.
Theman is a former member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly representing Hong Constituency and former State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He later joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP), before moving to the YPP, which adopted him as its 2027 governorship candidate.
