Okpella Royal visit to Ohinoyi aims to strengthen bond

The Okwokpellagbe of Okpella Kingdom,  HRH. Engr. Lukman Akemokue, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, marking a significant step towards strengthening the bond between the two kingdoms.

The visit was seen as a way to reinforce the common affinity and understanding between the Ebira and Okpella people, who have been living together peacefully for centuries.

During the visit, the two monarchs discussed the boundary dispute settlement and agreed to work together to reinstate their age-long relationship and peaceful co-existence.

HRH Engr. Lukman Akemokue, buttress the common traditions between Okpella and Ebiras, as both have lived peacefully since time immemorial, adding that both kingdoms have been known for farming activities.

He noted that the boundary dispute settlement has been discussed and both kingdoms have agreed to go into synergy towards reinstating the age-long relationship and peaceful co-existence that existed before the recent boundary differences.

The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, welcomed the king and emphasised that everyone is free in Ebiraland, regardless of their tribe, and that they give fair treatment to all.

The Ohinoyi also promised to visit Okpella and set up a strategic committee comprising both communities and stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the boundary dispute.

The two rulers agreed to constitute both a strategic boundary committee and a spiritual committee, given that both societies are faith-based entities.

This historic visit is expected to foster greater unity and cooperation between the Ebira and Okpella people, and to promote peace and development in the region.
