From David Onuoja, Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Benin Sub-Region, has received a truckload of spare parts and maintenance materials from the TCN Project Monitoring Unit (PMU), Abuja, to boost power supply in the region.

The consignment comprises 330kV and 132kV tripping coils, rapid pressure relays, current transformer (CT) ratio clamps, gantry structures and porcelain insulators, which have been offloaded and secured in the sub-region’s store, ready for deployment as required.

According to TCN management, the delivery will strengthen the sub-region’s capacity to carry out routine and emergency maintenance promptly, thereby reducing downtime and improving the reliability of the transmission network.

It will also support a more efficient delivery of bulk power to distribution companies serviced by the region.
