The Management of Mangal Cement Industry, has announced that it has dismissed one of it’s truck drivers for gross misconduct.
Management made it clear that it had no involvement in the recent incident in which one of its trucks was allegedly used to transport passengers, including children, from Iluhagba to Isanlu.
Consequently, it said the driver responsible has been dismissed for gross misconduct.

In a statement signed by Dr. Musa Umar, General Manager of Administration and Human Resources, the company expressed its disappointment at the driver’s actions, noting that they violated company policy and posed a security risk.
“Mangal Cement Industry is a reputable organisation that will not engage in any act that would compromise the security situation in the country, especially in Kogi State, its host state,” the statement read.
The company emphasised that its vehicles are strictly for delivering Mangal cement to designated locations and are not intended to carry passengers, particularly under‑age children.
The statement further noted that the driver’s conduct constituted a clear breach of company policy and had the potential to damage the firm’s reputation.
Mangal Cement Industry recently donated three brand‑new Nissan Hilux vehicles to the Kogi State government to support efforts against insecurity in the region.
The management urged the public to understand that the company does not condone or support any activity that promote crime or criminality, and it remains committed to providing quality services to its customers.
Finally, the statement referenced a press release issued by the Yagba East Local Government, reiterating that Mangal Cement Industry was not involved in the driver’s misconduct and that it trusts the authorities are already investigating the matter.
