From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin
Senator Saliu Mustapha, has urged Muslims across Nigeria to sustain the spiritual discipline, sacrifice and moral values cultivated during the holy month of Ramadan as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
In a goodwill message marking the end of Ramadan, the lawmaker representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, congratulated the Muslim Ummah, especially his constituents, on witnessing another Eid celebration.
He described Eid-el-Fitr as a period that should go beyond festivities, stressing the need for continuous reflection and commitment to the lessons learnt during the fasting period.
“Eid is not only a time of celebration but also a moment of gratitude and reflection. The values of devotion, compassion, self-discipline and generosity we embraced during Ramadan must not end with the season. They should guide our daily lives for the progress of our communities and nation,” Mustapha said.
The senator also extended his felicitations to Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, as well as the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and the Kwara State Council of Ulamah, for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
Mustapha prayed that Allah accepts the prayers and sacrifices offered during the period as acts of Ibadah, while calling for unity, peace and continued adherence to righteous living.
He added, “May Almighty Allah reward our acts of worship, grant us lasting peace and make us beneficiaries of His mercy. I wish all Muslims a joyful and blessed Eid-el-Fitr celebration.”
