Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, tolerance and unity as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitri.
Fintiri stated this in a goodwill message released on Thursday, to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, as he extends warm Eid greetings to residents of Adamawa State and the entire nation.
He described the occasion as a vital opportunity to strengthen national bonds and foster a united Nigeria.
In the statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, he highlighted that embracing peace, unity, and fairness remains essential for the country’s rebirth and progress.

He encouraged citizens to uphold the core values demonstrated during Ramadan; love, tolerance, forgiveness, and brotherhood, stressing that only through brotherly love and harmonious coexistence can Nigeria surmount its current challenges.
The Governor who expressed regret over recent unfortunate incidents in the country, appealed to traditional rulers, religious leaders, and the public to heighten vigilance and promote security awareness during and after the Sallah celebrations. He specifically advised against gathering in crowded places to ensure safety.
“Eid-el-Fitri promotes love and respect for Allah and fellow humans,” the governor stated. “Brotherly love and dedication to national service are vital for building the Nigeria we all desire.”
The Governor commended Adamawa citizens for maintaining peaceful coexistence despite their diverse backgrounds and acknowledged the state’s notable developmental achievements over the past seven years, amid economic hardships.
He called on residents to continue supporting government initiatives designed to benefit everyone, with the motto of leaving no one behind.
He lauded the security agencies for their efforts in sustaining peace and stability in the region, expressing confidence that greater progress is possible through collective collaboration.
