From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has extended warm greetings to Muslims in Kwara State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, calling for continued devotion and adherence to the values imbibed during Ramadan.

In a message to commemorate the end of the fasting period, the governor said he and his family joined the Muslim community in celebrating the spiritual milestone. He prayed for the acceptance of acts of worship observed during the holy month.

“I pray to Allah to accept our worship and our supplication whilst the month lasted, and to give us the grace to remain faithful and submissive to Him, adherent to the best of manners that the month taught, and observant of His commandments at all times,” he said, while wishing the faithful a joyous celebration.

Similarly, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, urging them not to abandon the lessons learnt during the period.

“AlhamduliLlah Robil Alameen for the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast. May Almighty Allah accept all our acts of worship and supplications and grant us the grace to carry on the lessons and teachings of unity, compassion, brotherhood, empathy, piety, sacrifice, self-restraint, and selflessness beyond the sacred month,” the Speaker stated.

Danladi-Salihu also extended felicitations to Governor AbdulRazaq and the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, as well as the wider Muslim community, describing Eid as an auspicious moment for reflection and gratitude.

He further called on the faithful to use the festive period to pray for leaders across the country, stressing the need for divine guidance in efforts to build a peaceful, united, and progressive Nigeria.
