The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has on behalf of his family, the Government and the good people of Bauchi State, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, an elder statesman, former Governor of the old Gongola State and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Governor Bala Mohammed described late Dr Bamanga Tukur, as a distinguished public servant and political leader whose contributions to the development of the nation and the advancement of democratic governance will remain indelible.
Governor Mohammed noted that the late elder statesman devoted a significant part of his life to the service of the people and the nation, providing leadership and counsel at critical moments in Nigeria’s political history. His experience,wisdom, humility and commitment to public service earned him respect across political divides.
The Governor particularly commiserates with the immediate family of the deceased, his associates, political colleagues , Adamawa State Government and the entire people of Adamawa State and beyond over the painful loss.
“The death of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur is a great loss not only to his immediate family but also to the people of Adamawa state, and Nigeria as a whole. He was a statesman of considerable experience and wisdom, whose contributions to public service and democratic politics will continue to be remembered.”
“At this difficult moment, my family and I, as well as the Government and good people of Bauchi State, extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. We pray that Almighty Allah will forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus…
We also pray that Allah will grant his loved ones and all those mourning this great loss the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.” the Governor said .
Governor Mohammed urged the family to take solace in the remarkable legacy of service left behind by the late elder statesman and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
