The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has commiserated with the North Central Regional Editor of Leadership Newspapers, Alhaji Abdullahi Olesin, over the death of his mother, Alhaja Munirat Hanafi Imam Olesin.
Alhaja Munirat died in the early hours of Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
In a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sheu Yusuf, on Tuesday, the Speaker described the deceased as a virtuous and responsible woman whose life was defined by devotion to Islam, commitment to her family and contributions to the development of her community.
Danladi-Salihu said Alhaja Munirat’s life of service and dedication had left behind enduring legacies that would continue to inspire members of her family and those who knew her.
He urged Alhaji Olesin and other members of the Imam Olesin family to take solace in the exemplary life their late mother lived, while praying for strength and comfort for the family during the difficult period.
The Speaker said, “I sympathise with Alhaji Abdullahi Hanafi Olesin and the entire Imam Olesin family over this painful loss. May Allah forgive the shortcomings of our mother, accept her good deeds and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.”
He further prayed to Allah to grant Alhaji Olesin and the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
