Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state, has flag off construction of first International Conference Centre to mark six years anniversary in Adamawa state.
Fintiri, made the ground breaking ceremony at the state secretariat’s complex in Yola at his two years anniversary of his second term as Governor of the state.
The construction of the International Conference Centre, which has one thousand capacity, will cost of N18.97 bilion and will be completed within twelve calendar Months.
According to him, this is a continuous delivery of the dividends of democracy and good governance to the state and the people, through the initiation and execution of projects that places the state strategically on the map of progress and brings shared prosperity to the people.
His words, “we are here today, for ground breaking and formally flag-off the construction of an ultramodern state-of-the-art International Conference and Events Centre in the heart of Yola.”
He noted that, the Centre, when fully constructed, will boast state-of-the-art facilities, galleries, mini halls, administrative offices, restaurant, tea-room, out-door sitting arrangements and uninterrupted power supply.
He reiterated that, the most interesting and heart-warming, is the economic and commercial benefits which it will attract to the state’s coffers, directly and otherwise. Going by the number and calibre of seminal, conferences, political confabs, dinners, launches, reviews, graduation parties, workshops, awards and other strategic get-togethers which will be drawn to the Centre at its completion.
“To the glory of God and the use of humanity, it is my pleasure to formally break the ground and flag-off the construction of the Adamawa state International Conference and Events Centre, Yola.”
In a welcome address, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Prambe, said that the project symbolizes the administration’s resolve to uphold democratic ideals through infrastructure that showcases the state’s cultural heritage and fosters innovation.
“This conference centre will not only enhance our state’s image but also stimulate economic activities and provide a platform for cultural exchange and intellectual engagement”.
The project, awarded to Messrs Lubell Nigeria Limited, is expected to be completed within 12 months. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development will oversee the execution in collaboration with consulting firm Messrs Globarch Associates.
In a remarks, the Project Consultant, Architect Saleh Yunusa, expressed appreciation for the trust placed in the firm, assuring stakeholders that the construction will adhere strictly to contract specifications and timelines.
