Education stakeholders in Kwara State, have called for stronger adoption of digital technology in teaching, examination preparation and school administration, saying technology has become critical to improving learning outcomes and the efficiency of educational institutions.
The call was made in Ilorin at the ExamPrep and School Management System Symposium organised by Icitify Solutions Limited in partnership with Keuntech.
The symposium, held at the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ilorin Branch, Tanke, attracted students, school proprietors, principals, administrators, educators, digital experts, government representatives and other stakeholders who explored ways technology could address longstanding challenges in Nigeria’s education sector.

The event centred on two technology-driven solutions: ExamPrep, a computer-based platform designed to support candidates preparing for JAMB, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and Post-UTME examinations, and a School Management System aimed at digitising key administrative operations in schools.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Icitify Solutions Limited, Mr A. AbdulAzeez, said the company was committed to developing practical digital solutions capable of transforming the way schools teach, manage records and engage learners.
He said the objective was not merely to introduce computers into schools but to use technology to tackle real challenges confronting the education system.
“Today is not just about the launch of a software; it is about the future of education in Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole,” AbdulAzeez said.
He explained that the company’s focus on software development, modern school management systems and digital learning solutions was driven by the need to replace inefficient traditional processes with more effective and accessible alternatives.
The ExamPrep platform was presented as a digital tool that gives students access to past questions and mock examinations while helping them prepare systematically for major examinations.
Information presented at the symposium showed that the platform has more than 50,000 questions covering several subjects, as well as an artificial intelligence-powered tutor, designed to assist students with difficult topics and identify areas where they need improvement.
The platform also provides parents with access to academic progress reports, enabling them to monitor their children’s performance and review their academic records.
For schools, the School Management System provides a centralised platform for handling admissions, school fees, attendance, student records, staff administration and other essential operations.
Guest speaker at the symposium, Dr Suleiman Yahya, a former Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Ilorin, explained that such systems could reduce schools’ reliance on fragmented manual processes while improving the storage, retrieval and management of vital information.
Participants also examined the wider role technology could play in making education more inclusive and responsive to the demands of the digital economy.
The organisers argued that schools needed to move beyond basic computer literacy towards creating digitally enabled environments where teachers, administrators and students could use technology to improve teaching, learning and institutional management.
They further stressed the importance of partnerships among technology companies, schools, government agencies and other stakeholders, saying collaboration would be essential to developing sustainable solutions for the education sector.
The Icitify Digital Skill Empowerment Foundation was also highlighted for its efforts in digital skills training and the deployment of technology solutions, with the organisers saying its engagements with institutions were aimed at building young people’s capacity and creating opportunities in the technology space.
The symposium placed particular emphasis on empowering young people through practical exposure to digital tools.
Among the initiatives highlighted was the U-Inspired Programme for final-year students of the University of Ilorin, which provides participants with opportunities to acquire practical knowledge and demonstrate skills gained from their studies.
Young academic talents from Kwara State, including participants associated with the 2026 International Spelling Bee Competition, were also recognised during the event as part of efforts to encourage academic excellence and youth development.
The organisers maintained that the future of education in Nigeria would depend increasingly on the ability of institutions to integrate technology into both learning and administration.
They said sustained investment in digital infrastructure, skills development and collaboration among stakeholders would be necessary to prepare Nigerian students and schools for a rapidly changing global economy.
The symposium ended with a renewed call for education stakeholders to embrace technology not as an optional addition to the school system, but as an important tool for improving academic preparation, strengthening institutional management and empowering the next generation.
