The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Jimoh, has reaffirmed his commitment to professional policing, respect for fundamental human rights and equal application of the law.
Jimoh made the commitment when he received the National President of the Ilorin Emirates Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Assistant Comptroller-General of Immigration, ACG A. A. AbdulMalik (Rtd.), and other members of the union during a courtesy visit to the Zone 2 Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos.
The visit provided an opportunity for the IEDPU delegation to commend Jimoh, an indigene of Ilorin, for his distinguished career, professionalism and contributions to national service.

Speaking during the visit, AbdulMalik thanked Almighty Allah for His continued grace over the life and career of the AIG, while praising his contributions to the development of Ilorin and his leadership in sustaining peace and security across Lagos and Ogun states.
He described Jimoh as “a disciplined, principled and dutiful officer” whose professional conduct reflects good character, responsible citizenship and the values associated with Barakat Community Secondary School, Ilorin, where the AIG received his secondary education.
The IEDPU president noted that the school, established by the union, was founded not only to promote academic excellence but also to inculcate moral discipline, sound societal values and exemplary character in its students.
According to him, Jimoh’s career has demonstrated the impact of such values, expressing confidence that the AIG would continue to discharge his responsibilities with diligence, integrity and fidelity to the rule of law.
Responding, Jimoh expressed appreciation to the IEDPU leadership and members for the visit and the goodwill extended to him.
He acknowledged the union’s longstanding interest in his career, describing the recognition as both an honour and a reminder of the responsibilities attached to public service.
The AIG said, “I remain committed to the professional discharge of my constitutional responsibilities, guided by the rule of law, respect for fundamental human rights and the principles of justice and fairness.”
He further assured residents and stakeholders within the zone that justice would be pursued without fear or favour, regardless of an individual’s social status, position or class.
Jimoh said the Zone 2 Police Command would continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to safeguard lives and property, maintain public order and strengthen security across Lagos and Ogun states.
The Zone 2 Headquarters reiterated its resolve to uphold professionalism and ensure that its constitutional mandate is discharged in line with democratic policing principles and respect for the rights of citizens.
The visit underscored the enduring relationship between the police leadership and community stakeholders in promoting peace, security and responsible public service.
