…presents “Adamawa Rising Agenda” to Federal appointees

From Joseph Adahnu, Yola

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Ahmed Aminu, has expressed deep concern over the deadly attack on Dzangola community in Gombi Local Government Area.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Adamu Sambo, Galadima described the incident as painful and called for urgent improved security across vulnerable communities in the state. He extended sympathy to the people of Dzangola and the wider Gombi community following the attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Sunday, 6 September 2026.

“My heart goes out to the people of Dzangola at this very painful moment. The loss of innocent lives is devastating, and I extend my deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones and to the entire community. I pray that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives the departed, grant them eternal rest and give their families and the people of Dzangola the strength and fortitude to bear this heartbreaking loss,” the statement read.

Galadima expressed particular concern over reports that a young girl was abducted during the attack and urged security agencies to make every possible effort to locate and safely rescue her.

He called on the military, police and other law-enforcement and intelligence agencies to urgently strengthen their efforts in protecting lives and property, noting that repeated attacks on communities in the area had become one too many.

He praised the courage and resilience of rural communities but stressed that residents should not be left to confront terrorists and other criminal elements alone. “Our people deserve to sleep in their homes without fear, cultivate their farms without anxiety and conduct their businesses without the constant threat of violence.

The people of Dzangola and neighbouring communities need to see and feel the presence of government through effective security. We must restore their confidence that their lives and property are protected.”

Galadima appealed to rural communities to remain highly vigilant and security-conscious, urging residents to promptly share credible information with security agencies and community leaders about suspicious movements, unfamiliar persons or the activities of criminal elements.

He emphasised that the fight against terrorism requires collective effort involving security agencies, governments at all levels, traditional and religious leaders, community vigilantes and citizens.

He also called on humanitarian organisations, philanthropists, community leaders and well-meaning Nigerians to support families whose homes, livelihoods and means of sustenance were affected by the attack.

The Chairman of Gombi Local Government Area, has confirmed that 12 people were killed and two others injured in the incident. Homes and businesses were attacked and property destroyed. Security personnel have been mobilised to the area.

In a related development, Galadima engaged federal appointees from Adamawa and presented his “Adamawa Rising Agenda.”

The federal government appointees described the candidate’s decision to engage them, listen to their perspectives and seek their support as a demonstration of humility, honour and respect, as well as a willingness to consult widely on issues affecting the collective interest of Adamawa State.

Galadima stressed that building a greater Adamawa cannot be left to government alone. It requires the contributions, experience, expertise and goodwill of all stakeholders—whether at home or serving the nation at the federal level.

The engagement, he said, marked another step in his commitment to building bridges, listening to diverse perspectives and forging a broad partnership for a more prosperous, inclusive, peaceful and development-oriented Adamawa.

“The message is simple: Adamawa Rising is a collective project. And everyone has a role to play.”
