The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), has blamed the power outage challenges to the dry season limitations, low water levels in dams, and gas supply disruptions which have reduced overall generation and allocations from the national grid.
In a statement from the Management of AEDC, on recently said, the main challenges affecting light distribution in Nasarawa State and its Sub Cities like, Mararaba, Lafia, Keffi, Masaka and other Communities across Nasarawa State is due to the issues enumerated above which is beyond its control.
Addressing power supply constraints in Nasarawa State, citing national-level challenges beyond its control, the company explains that dry season limitations, low water levels in dams, and gas supply disruptions have reduced overall generation and allocations from the national grid.
AEDC noted that Lafia’s power allocation has dropped to between 5 MW and 10 MW, far below demand, leading to extended outages.
The company however, revealed that It is working with stakeholders to manage the situation and improve allocations as soon as possible.
It assured customers of its commitment to equitable distribution and innovative solutions, including solar mini-grids and renewable energy projects.
The company appreciated customers’ patience and encourages reporting of concerns through official channels. As AEDC remains dedicated to serving Nasarawa State and advancing solutions to reduce grid dependency and enhance power access, it added.
