From David Onuoja, Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), said, it has restored the 330kV Shiroro-Mando Transmission Line 2, after completing the repair works and energizing the line at 8:32pm on February 19, 2026.

This, it added follows the extensive technical interventions by TCN engineers to ensure infrastructure integrity and reliability is achieved.

In a press statement issued and signed by the general manager, Public Affairs Unit, Ndidi Mbah, said, with both Line 1 and 2 now operational, the Shiroro-Mando transmission corridor is fully functional, reinforcing bulk electricity transmission to Kaduna Electric’s franchise area.

This new development will enhanced the network flexibility and strengthens overall system reliability, marking a significant milestone in TCN’s efforts to strengthen the transmission backbone.
