Adurodija resumes as Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information

The newly appointed Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information,Mr. Ebenezer Adurodija has formally assumed duty , pledging his unwavering commitment to staff welfare.
At a handover ceremony held at the ministry in Lokoja, Adurodija who took over from the Acting Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abdul Yakubu, pledged to work with members of staff to deliver on the mandate of the office.
He soon after shifted focus towards improving the welfare of staff of the ministry, a priority he committed to addressing under his leadership.
Speaking further, he expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the confidence placed in him through his appointment. He also recognized the Head of Civil Service, Pastor Elijah Evinemi, for leading a transparent and merit-driven selection process.
Mr. Adurodija assured the Commissioner for Information,Hon. Kingsley Fanwo of his loyalty while praising his leadership style.“With the Governor and Commissioner’s support, I am committed to working tirelessly to bring about positive changes, especially in improving staff welfare,” he stated.
The new Permanent Secretary also took the opportunity to task staff on professionalism, urging them to steer clear of gossip and laziness. Just as he emphasised the need for more collaboration and team spirit to enhance diligence and productivity.
The Acting Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abdul Yakubu, in his farewell message, advised Mr. Adurodija to focus on fostering coordination within the ministry, stressing that it was key to driving efficient resource management and policy implementation.
The handover attracted goodwill messages from various stakeholders, with Alhaji Ademu Seidu, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Council, , expressing his confidence in Mr. Adurodija’s ability to lead effectively. The NUJ Chairman pledged the union’s support to his administration.
Echoing similar sentiments, the Director of Information Services, Mr. Sunday Adeniyi, commended Governor Ododo for his examplary leadership style, while the Chairman Kogi Information Chapel of the NUJ, Mallam Shuaibu Abubakar, praised Mr. Adurodija’s resilience and hard work, wishing him success in his new role.
Mr. Adurodija’s appointment is seen as a positive step for the Ministry, as his emphasis on staff welfare and internal coordination promises to create an enabling environment for growth and development.
