As part of continuous efforts to put smiles on the faces of women and children as well as meet the health needs of vulnerable and less privileged groups in society,the wife of Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo has embarked on a medical outreach programme in the state.

The outreach kicked off on Tuesday at Specialist Hospital, Lokoja where she was taken round the wards to interact and financially support about 200 women and children.

Her first stop was the antenatal section, where she offered words of encouragement and prayed for the safe delivery of expectant mothers, emphasising the importance of maternal health as a foundation for societal well-being.

Addressing the women, Hajia Ododo underscored the critical role of family values in maintaining a harmonious society.

She urged mothers to respect their husbands and nurture mutual respect within their homes.

According to her, the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has continuously sent her support in ensuring that women, especially those in rural communities, have access to essential healthcare services.

As part of the outreach, Hajia Ododo presented cash and gifts to expectant mothers, and other beneficiaries while promising to extend the gestures to other hospitals across the state.

The Chief Medical Director of the center, Professor Isah Adagiri, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Hajia Ododo for her visit, while acknowledging the positive impact of the medical outreach on women and children.

He commended her dedication to improving grassroots healthcare and her commitment to uplifting the lives of vulnerable groups within the state.

Speaking during the visit, wife of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Princess Kareemat Abdullahi, commended the first lady for her proactive efforts in uplifting the lives of women in need.

She noted that the medical outreach reflects the first lady’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by women and children in the state.

According to her, the state was fortunate to have a compassionate mother who deeply understands and empathises with the struggles of others.

Mrs. Hauwa Abubakar, one of the beneficiaries, expressed deep gratitude to the first lady, describing her as a compassionate mother and a true blessing to the people.

She commended her thoughtful gestures, emphasising that having someone who genuinely understands and shares in the struggles of women was a remarkable gift to the state.
