Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, has charged the newly posted Corps members to Kogi State to be patriotic in their service to their fatherland.
A press statement by the public Relations Officer of the state ministry of Youths and Sports Development, James Sani, indicates that Governor Ododo, gave the charge while addressing the 1,530 Corp members deployed to Kogi State during their swearing-in ceremony held at the state National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) orientation camp at Asaya Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.
The governor who was represented by the state commissioner of Youths and Sports development, Monday Anyebe , told the 2024 Batch B Stream II corps members, to contribute their quota to the growth and development of the country during their service year in the state.
Anyebe also told them to promote National unity and cultural integration during the year and to also see their scheme as a viable tool for the implementation of critical National development Programmes.
The Youth and Sports development Commissioner, said the orientation Programme is specially designed to instill in them veritable leadership qualities such as perseverance, discipline endurance and team work during and after their service year in the state.
On his part, the kogi state Coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Femi Osungbobun, advised the Corps members to follow the rules and regulations of the camp saying the NYSC would not tolerate indiscipline in the camp.
Mr Femi Osungbobun expressed appreciation to the State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his commitment to the welfare of Corps members in the state.
