Ododo vies to strengthen Kogi-Benue ties

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State, has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering and strengthening the longstanding bond of friendship and mutual understanding between the people of Kogi and Benue States.

During a traditional homage visit to the Tor Tiv, Chief James Ayatse, in Gboko, Benue State, Governor Ododo, represented by his Deputy, Joel Salifu Oyibo, said he will build on the foundation of harmony and cooperation that has existed for decades.

He emphasized that the relationship between Kogi and Benue state is rooted in a rich history and shared cultural heritage,

He stated that the two states have an unbreakable bond that transcends time, and that his administration is committed to nurturing and strengthening this enduring affinity for the benefit of both states.

Governor Ododo, affirmed that the bond between Kogi and Benue will persist in harmony, acknowledging the Benue people’s exemplary traits of peacefulness, warm hospitality, and industriousness.

He expressed gratitude to the Tor Tiv, for the gracious welcome and offered heartfelt prayers for the monarch’s continued robust health, vigor, and divine blessings.

Governor Ododo, expressed his gratitude for the prayers and blessings of the Tor Tiv, which he believed would inspire him to do more to support and empower all residents of the state, regardless of their background, to succeed in their lawful pursuits.

He praised the monarch’s kingdom for producing exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions, and reiterated his appreciation for the warm hospitality and kindness of the Benue people, describing them as a wonderful and welcoming community.

His Royal Majesty, earlier praised Governor Ododo for his remarkable accomplishments in a short span, noting that the impact of the Kogi State government’s efforts is felt even in Benue State.

The monarch encouraged Governor Ododo to maintain the momentum, commending his dedication to excellence and urging him to continue making strides in governance.

The monarch expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for dispatching a high-level delegation to Benue State, led by the Deputy Governor, which he considered a gesture of great respect and solidarity.

The Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, was accompanied on the visit by two senior officials: Mr. Thomas Offor, Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, and Shiek Sani Musa, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Ethics and Values, forming a strong delegation that reinforced the Governor’s message of goodwill and cooperation.
