Ezi Ogu clan marks unity day, celebrate heritage

The Ezi Ogu clan in Ebiraland gathered on Okene-Eba, Okene Local Government Area, in Kogi State, to celebrate their annual Unity Day.

The community-wide event brought together elders, traditional titleholders, and indigenes to promote unity, foster socio-cultural development, and honor their shared ancestral heritage.

Ezi Ogu clan has numerous settlements spread across the Local Government Areas of Kogi Central. They are widely recognized for being highly accommodating and maintaining excellent interpersonal relationships within society.

Mr. Muhammed Otuoze, the President of the Ezi Ogu clan, expressed his excitement over the massive crowd that turned out to grace the historical occasion.

He prayed for the forefathers who fought tirelessly to liberate the land, both physically and spiritually, and for the peaceful co-existence that they enjoy today in Ebiraland.

While preaching unity among the Ogu clan, Mr. Otuoze who said that Ebiraland belongs to every indigene, encouraged the people to build up their homeland so that it appears attractive and welcoming to outsiders.

Highlights of the event, was the trek from Okene-Eba down to the Okene Club Event Center by the entire Ogu clan, display by different indigenous Ebira musicians and also unveiled their indigenous clothing to serve as a unifying identity for all Ogu descendants.

The former Chairman of Okene Local Government, Hon. Yahaya Karaku, who graced the occasion, appreciated the Eziogu family and the entire Ebiraland for the love they expressed during this historical event.
