Workplace Security Campaign records huge success as programme hits second phase

The Workplace Security Campaign across the twenty one local Government Areas has recorded significant success as workers in the areas visited described the sensitisation as a right step towards adequate grassroots mobilisation.

Speakers at the Councils visited so far, noted that there has been a great improvement in workers’ welfare since the inception of the present administration.

According to most of the Union leaders, there will be no need for serious campaigns for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the forthcoming election, stressing that he has already campaigned for himself through his good works.

In their separate remarks, the Chairmen of Dekina and Omala Local Governments, Honouranle John Ikani and Honourable Edibo Mark respectively, said that the Workplace Security Campaign team was a right step in the right direction.

 

The Chairmen who stated this during the visit by the team in their respective Local Government Secretariats, maintained that a golden fish has no hiding place, describing Governor Ododo as a man full of human kindness.

Speaking in Dekina, Hon. Ikani said with the works of the team, campaigns have been made easier and commended the Governor for approving the initiative which he noted, is results oriented.

Hon. Ikani described the team leader and Special Adviser on Labour, Comrade Onuh Edoka, as a successful fighter and congratulated the All Progessive Congress (APC) for having him as a frontline member.

The Dekina Chairman assured that workers in Dekina local government were strongly behind the government, citing the cordial relationship between their leaders and him as a testament of good leadership by the Ododo administration.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Omala Local Government, Hon. Mark noted that effective partnership with labour was essential in order to effectively drive the policies and programmes of the government as well as have total victory in the forthcoming elections.

Hon. Mark emphasised that Governor Ododo has made campaigns easier by doing the right things through responsive governance, and commended the Governor for improving security in the area, especially with the establishment of FOB at Bagana.

Labour leaders in the two local government areas assured that their members were strongly in support of Governor Ododo and President Bola Tinubu’s re-election based on the attention to their welfare.

In his speech, the Special Adviser on Labour matters, Comrade Edoka said the importance of security cannot be overemphasised considering the challenges facing the present day society.

Comrade Edoka who enumerated the achievements of the government, said there was a need to support the Governor and President in their re-election bid in order to guarantee their jobs and sustainable development.

In his remarks, Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Gabriel Amari, expressed appreciation to the workers in the two local government councils for the warm reception accorded the team.
