We will win the war against criminals- Gov. Ododo vows

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has vowed to win the war against criminals and ensure a secure environment for citizens in the state.

The Governor sounded the alarm while commissioning the newly built office complex for the Nigeria Police Quick Response Unit in Kogi State, a project executed by his administration within a record of 90 days.

He maintain that his top priority as the Chief Security Officer, is to eradicate crime and ensure a secure environment for citizens in the state.

He emphasised that his administration will not be bogged down by incessant security challenges, but instead, will take proactive measures to root out criminal elements from their hideouts and eliminate them entirely.

“I am not here to do my best. I am here to defeat criminals. We are winning the war against insecurity and we are very intentional about our work to strengthen the state’s security architecture”, Ododo said.

Governor Ododo further gave a firm assurance that no effort will be spared in ensuring the safety and security of every part of the state, stressing that the Metropolitan Quick Response operation is a strategic initiative to bolster security and expand on the robust security framework established by the previous administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.

He praised the tireless efforts and sacrifices of security agencies in the state, promising to maintain a focus on technological advancements to boost intelligence gathering and combat evolving security threats.

Governor Ododo, while recognizing President Bola Tinubu’s steadfast resolve to tackle security challenges across the nation, declared the full backing of the Kogi State Government and it’s people for the President’s efforts to combat terrorism and criminality.

He urged citizens to remain alert and provide accurate and timely intelligence report to security agencies, supporting the ongoing campaign to rid the state of criminal elements.

Governor Ododo, maintained that the Metropolitan Quick Response Squad is designed to provide a secure environment for both residents and visitors in Kogi State. Emphasising a 24/7 response capability, improved intelligence gathering, and a community-oriented policing approach.

The Quick Response Squad is a joint security initiative involving the Kogi State Government, the Nigeria Police Rapid Response Squad, and the state’s Joint Task Force, focused on addressing criminality in Kogi State.
