The new store, located at Ikeja City Mall, will offer a wide range of The Body Shop’s products, including its Spa of the World and Most Loved collections.

The brand’s commitment to community fair trade and sustainable sourcing practices is evident in its partnerships with African suppliers, including women-led cooperatives in Ghana and smallholder farmers in Kenya.

British Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Jonny Baxter, emphasised the importance of this expansion, stating, “The Body Shop’s arrival in Lagos is a powerful symbol of the deepening UK-Nigeria trade relationship.” He added that the store will create jobs and opportunities for Nigerians, with over 20 jobs already created.

The Body Shop’s CEO, Mike Jatania, expressed his excitement about the brand’s growth strategy in West Africa, highlighting Lagos as a key hub.

Shalom Ijeoma Lloyd, General Manager of The Body Shop Nigeria, noted that this milestone marks a new chapter in the brand’s commitment to Nigeria and West Africa.

This development is a testament to the growing economic ties between the UK and Nigeria, with Nigeria being the UK’s second-largest trading partner in Africa. The Body Shop’s expansion is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy and reinforce the UK’s commitment to Nigeria.
