From David Onuoja, Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kaduna Region, has launched a Community sensitization campaign to combat vandalism and encroachment on transmission line Right-of-Way (RoW).

The leader of the delegation, who is also the General Manager, Engineer Nasir Fada, met with traditional leaders in Mando and Rigasa Communities to strengthen collaboration and address safety risks.

According to a statement released by the TCN Public Affairs Unit, Ndidi Mbah in Abuja, said, the dangers of constructing houses and shops beneath high-tension lines is enormous, citing risks of electrocution and fatal accidents.

He warned that, individuals who encroach on designated RoW areas do so at their own risk, and TCN won’t be liable for any compensation in case of electrical accidents.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional leaders, which include Sarkin Mando, Alhaji Sani Musa and District Head of Rigasa Architect Aminu Idris, pledged support for the initiative. While TCN hopes to reduce vandalism and ensure a safe environment for transmission infrastructure.
