The Kwara State Police Command has apprehended a 46-year-old man, Isiaka Adeniyi, for allegedly attempting to use a 10-year-old boy, Akeem Nurudeen, for ritual purposes.

The incident occurred in the Abab Oke-Foma area of Ilorin, according to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Ejire Adeyemi Toun recently.

According to the statement, the police had received a distress call reporting an attempted homicide on July 2, 2024, around 6:00 pm.

The Onidoko Police Post relayed that a young boy hawking pepper was lured into a room by Adeniyi under the pretense of buying pepper. Adeniyi allegedly covered the boy’s face with a cloth and attempted to slaughter him with a knife.
