From David Onuoja, Abuja

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), Dr. Adesegun Akin-Olugbade, has described staff training and development as critical to achieving the organisation’s target of strengthening Nigeria’s electricity system.

Akin-Olugbade stated this while addressing staff who were undergoing training at NISO headquarters in Abuja. He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to creating an enabling work environment and urged employees to approach management directly with concerns affecting their performance.

Also speaking, is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Abdu Bello Mohammed, who disclosed that the ongoing programme was the sixth batch of System Operators training.

He noted that NISO’s capacity-building initiatives cover all categories of staff to boost morale and improve professional competence.
