The Oba Yoruba in Kogi State, Alhaji Bello Audu Oke (popularly known as Owoniboy), has applauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his proactive steps in ridding Kogi State of bandits and other criminal elements.

The royal father gave the commendation in a chat with news men recently at his palace in Lokoja.

Oba Audu said the Governor’s commitment to security since assumption of office has restored confidence among residents and made movement across the state safer.

“Governor Ododo has shown capacity and political will in tackling insecurity head-on. Today, our people can travel on Lokoja-Abuja Road, farm in their villages, and do business without living in fear,” the monarch stated.

He noted that the collaboration between the State Government, security agencies, and traditional rulers has yielded positive results, with cases of kidnapping and armed robbery reducing significantly across the 21 local government areas.

According to him, the Yoruba community in Lokoja and across Kogi State has particularly benefitted from the improved security situation.

“As residents of Kogi State, we feel safe. Our markets are open, our children go to school, and investors are beginning to show interest in the state again. This is because for the Governor Ododo, security is his number one priority,” Oba Owoniboy added.

The Oba Yoruba urged citizens to continue to support the government with timely information, stressing that security is everybody’s business

He also prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom and protection for Governor Ododo as he continues to steer the affairs of the state.

He started further that the Ododo administration has prioritized security under its “Continuity and Consolidation” agenda, with the procurement of operational vehicles, support for vigilante groups, and stronger synergy with federal security outfits.
