Relocate to safer high land for safety, Fufore council urge residents

With the ongoing flooding, Fufore local government area of Adamawa state, has advised those at risk to move to higher land for safety of lives and property.

The Chairperson, Fufore Local Government Council, Hon. Peace Audu, stated, in Fufore Government Lodge, while distributing relief materials to people affected by the recent flood disaster.

The Chairperson, who was represented by her Vice, Sadiq Mani, commiserated  with affected victims and cautioned residents to desist from building structures on waterways and to avoid dumping refuse into drainages.

According to the Council Boss, it was necessary to assist flood victims with food items before assistance from the state government and agencies such as the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA).

He recalled that exparts had earlier advised those in flood prone areas to be vigilant find alternative place and strictly adhere to guidelines provided by government agencies to prevent flooding.

Worst hit areas affected include Margire B, Sabon Gari, Wuro Ahi, and Hausari B.

Distributed items included cartons of noodles, Maggi cubes, and Indomie noodles, among others.
