From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The Kwara State Police Command, has launched a full-scale investigation into a suspected arson attack that razed a residential building in the Isale Koko area of Ilorin, arresting three suspects in connection with the incident.

The incident came to public attention following a viral video showing an elderly woman lamenting that her home had been completely destroyed by fire. Police authorities confirmed that the fire was reported on January 2, 2026, at the C Division Police Station, Oja Oba.

According to the police, the complainant, Mrs T.A. Olorisha, reported that her house was allegedly set on fire by unknown persons on January 1, 2026, at about 7:00pm, while she was away from the premises.

Police investigations revealed that Mrs Olorisha had earlier received threats in November 2025, allegedly linked to religious differences. The complainant, a traditional worshipper, reportedly named three individuals she claimed had threatened her prior to the incident.
