From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The Ogiyan of Ejigboland, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyesosin II, MFR, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, urging him to reciprocate the support of the people of Ejigbo with more development projects and empowerment initiatives.

In a congratulatory message dated August 18, 2026, the monarch said Adeleke’s victory in the August 15 governorship election reflected the confidence and trust reposed in his administration by the people of Osun State.

Oba Oyesosin, who spoke on behalf of the chiefs, Council of Obas and people of Ejigboland, described the governor’s re-election as a renewed mandate to consolidate on his achievements and deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.

“Your victory at the August 15, 2026 election is a clear testimony to the confidence and trust that the people of Osun State have placed in your leadership,” the monarch said.

He added that the renewed mandate showed that the people appreciated Adeleke’s commitment to public service and had entrusted him with the responsibility of steering the affairs of the state for another four years. “Indeed, Imole is shining brighter,” he said.

The traditional ruler prayed for divine wisdom, good health, strength and discernment for Adeleke, expressing optimism that his second term would be more peaceful, purposeful and prosperous than the first.

Oba Oyesosin also commended the people of Ejigbo Local Government Area, for their support during the election, saying they came out in large numbers to vote for Adeleke despite alleged intimidation.

“I must specially place on record the sacrifices made by the good people of Ejigbo Local Government Area. Our people came out en masse, stood firm despite intimidation and voted overwhelmingly for you,” he said.

According to him, the people of Ejigbo committed their time, resources and voices to the governor’s re-election because of their belief in his vision for Osun State.

The monarch, however, appealed to Adeleke to reciprocate the support by giving greater attention to Ejigboland during his second term, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, empowerment and projects capable of improving the standard of living of residents.

“We have laboured and sacrificed, and we trust that you will reciprocate our support with good governance, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, empowerment and projects that will improve the lives of our people,” he appealed.

The Ogiyan further assured the governor of the continued support and loyalty of Ejigboland, while praying that Adeleke’s second term would usher in greater development and prosperity across Osun State.

“Ejigboland stands firmly with you. May your reign bring greater Imole to Osun State,” the monarch said.
