From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

An emotional farewell message, has been written to a recently transferred Commandant, celebrating what colleagues described as his remarkable impact despite a short stay in office.

The tribute, signed by ASC 1 Ayoola Shola, CDPRO, Kwara State Command, expressed deep personal and professional admiration for the outgoing officer, who was said to have made a strong impression within over a month of assumption of duty before his redeployment.

In the message, Shola described the development as painful, noting the strong bond and mentorship he experienced under the Commandant’s leadership.

“It is with a heavy heart that I reflect on your transfer, especially knowing that your handing over comes so soon after your arrival. In just a little over a month, your impact has been truly remarkable and deeply felt,” he wrote.

He further expressed personal gratitude for the relationship built during the brief period of service, describing the Commandant as more than a superior officer.

“I am personally pained by your departure because you were more than a Commandant to me, you were a mentor, a guide, and a father figure. You took me in as your own, supported me, and gave me the opportunity to learn, grow, and improve myself,” the statement added.

According to him, the lessons received under the Commandant’s leadership would remain lifelong values, especially in discipline, professionalism, and confidence-building.

“The knowledge, discipline, and confidence I have gained under your leadership will remain with me for a lifetime,” he stated.

Shola also commended the officer’s administrative competence and leadership qualities, describing them as exemplary and worthy of emulation within the security sector.

“Your exceptional intelligence, administrative excellence, and professionalism as a seasoned law enforcement officer have left a lasting impression on everyone privileged to work with you,” he said.

He prayed for continued success in the Commandant’s future assignments, expressing optimism about greater accomplishments ahead.

“As you move on to your next assignment, I pray that Almighty God continues to guide you, strengthen you, and grant you even greater success in all your endeavours,” he added.

The message concluded with a note of gratitude and farewell, stating, “Thank you for everything, Sir. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.”
