The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, has assured the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), that the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, would win 2027 polls for the party without breaking a sweat.

Rt. Hon. Umar stated this while fielding questions from the press in Abuja at the ongoing APC National Convention.

He said the policies and programmes of the administration in the State has touched on critical areas necessary for the growth of the state, while also amplifying the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

To the Speaker, there is no better time to be a Kogi citizen in view of the drive by the State government, to ensure grassroots development, care for the welfare of the people and timely payment of salaries of public and civil servants.

In his words, “That Ododo will win 2027 elections comfortably for the APC is not to be debated. The debate now is by what margin.

“All machinery of government is working effectively in Kogi State under the leadership of Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. This is not denying the fact that the insecurity in other parts of the country is threatening to take root in Kogi, but the Governor is fighting it head-on through the support that he keeps giving to security agencies.

“Note also that while the Governor is doing all these, he has just recently awarded the contract for the construction of the first airport in the state which is a plus when completed. The project alone would create employment opportunities and improve the economy of the state.

“This is not mentioning other things that he is doing to encourage youth and women empowerment, construction of rural roads to improve agricultural economy and improve food security for the state and country. I am sure that in no distant time, Kogi will become the food basket of the nation.”
